Information from manufacturer next:
Here is a really cool one :)
The tone of that pedal is based on the absolute classics - Tone Bender II, iconic fuzz which is mostly associated with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck early records, but to me its the perfect pedal for any loud and aggressive music :D sharp and harmonically rich on lows and round and vocally smooth on highs (or even a bit synthy - it definitely brings something new to your guitar tone).
I know that we all love old original pedals, but however, let's face it - they have lots of drawbacks - price, bad shape, noise, unavailability of parts for repairings (just try to find the correct spec Ge transistor for replacing of the dead one), and of course, they are very temperature-sensitive, so if your tone is great today at your rehearsals, it can be way worse tomorrow on your gig. Soooooo... Instead of the original, circuitry here is based on modern, stable and absolute temperature-insensitive parts so you will always have the same sound - no matter if it's your warm bedroom or a windy and cold open-air.
And a few words about knobs. Mainly about the Attack - It works just as the original Tone Bender II Attack knob - mainly it changes the amount of harmonics in your sound and a bit lowering the gain, so I would say that its something in between of a tone and a gain knobs actually, but it just doing what is exactly should - lets you cut through the band mix. And as a cherry on the cake's top, it cleans up really beautiful with your guitar volume knob, so you can count it as the third knob on the pedal :D
