    Description

Striking Navajo ring with oval beautifully bronze matrixed turquoise cab with top and bottom bezels and antiquing.  It is very, very similar to others we have previous sold or have listed but this one was either not signed or the signature has been worn off. It is attributed to Harry Morgan and quite obviously his work. It is approximately size 5 1/2 to 5 3/4 and weighs approximately 14.5 grams. It is roughly 1 7/8" x 7/8" and tapers to the back for a comfortable fit.
We purchased this ring for our gallery inventory in the 1993 and it has been in inventory or our safe, unworn since then. It very possibly had a prior life but is in excellent condition. It is made in Harry Morgan's classic style so purposely antiqued and designed to look very old. Harry Morgan is a highly collectible, award-winning Navajo master silversmith whose works have been internationally recognized. His jewelry is often created from stamps he made or inherited from family members. He began making and celebrating jewelry at a very young age in the 1960's. He used only natural stones and prided himself on the "bigness, boldness" and traditional design of his work. He was inspired to create jewelry in the "old pawn" style by his mother. Sadly, the world lost Harry Morgan in 2008 but his wonderful creations live on.
