About this great vintage PANaramic Estey Pancordion amplifier! First let me suggest typing the following into You Tube: Arthur's 1960 PANaramic Amp      This will bring up a 14 minute video that walks through the amp's history and you can hear all controls and effects. I will list what I can here if you can't go to You Tube. What can you say about a 61 year old great piece of music industry equipment? First I can say that if it isn't a little beat up, it must not of been anyones favorite, or worth it's weight on stage. It's only a year younger than I am, and it's in better shape :-). So it has the usual corner bumps and tears on the outside. The grill cloth is in excellent condition, but there is a staining which may very well clean off, but I have no desire to do so. I see many misrepresentations on listings surrounding amplifiers very close to this style so I want to be as accurate as possible in my description. This is a 1960-1961 PANaramic model 1220. This model was replaced by the 1262 no later than 1963. It was manufactured by Estey Electronics Inc. in Torrance, Ca. and labeled as a Product of PANCORDION INC.. This was done through an arrangement between Estey and the Ernest F. Deffner Co. of New York. Deffner was an instrument and electronics distributor who had made arrangements with Robert Pancotti to sell his Pancordion as well as selling Titano accordions. This amplifier was produced to be used with both of these accordion models. After 1965 Deffner switched arrangements and began to have Audio Guild build their Panaramic models. The original scematics sheet which comes with this amp identifies both Estey and the March 17th, 1960 revision date of the scematics. This is logical. Estey purchased Magnatone in 1959 and incorporated much or their great engineering into their products lines. Most of the features of this amp (plus a few added upgrades) would be consistent with the Magnatone 260A model which included the addition of a Mellow/Normal switch that the 260 did not have.The case houses a matched pair of Oxford 12K5R-1 speakers with Alnico magnets.
The controls boaed is as follows right to left: Power, Stand By and Anti-Hum switches / 2 Remote Speaker 1/4" inputs / Vibrato Controls for Channel 1 only with the 1/4" Footpeal switch input and dials for intensity and speed / Channel 2 controls with both a Low and High Gain input, Volume, Bass, Treble knobs plus a switch option between Normal and Bright / Channel 1 controls with Low Gain, High Gain and Stereo input options, Volume, Bass and Treble knobs, plus the mentioned switch between Mellow and Normal.
Also included are the original scematics sheet, A cleaner reprinted copy, a spare tube and the original Footpedal switch and cord.
The Scematics also indicate 135 Watts, 60 Cycles AND 117 Volts.
My feedback tells it all about my buyer satisfaction history. I am selling this for a dear friend who has retired from active performing and would love to see this fine amp continue on for many more years in a Tejano or Polka band or as a specialty studio effects amp. I can tell you it is killer with the Vibrato feature, warm tube sound and paired with a button accordian.
