    Description

Being offered is a truly vintage, rare, Navajo Indian hand crafted jewelry pin or brooch.  This pin is from the Fred Harvey Era when Natives started crafting jewelry for the early tourist trade in the southwest.  The pin is made of sterling silver with a set Cerrillos turquoise stone.  The pin is a larger size thunderbird bird figure design with the classic Harvey ere die stamped markings.  This size of thunderbird is uncommon with nice workmanship and design.  The pin is in good condition and approx. 3 5/8" by 1 1/4".  SH includes insurance.
The Fred Harvey Era was during the start of the early tourist travel to the southwest.  This started the demand for Native American Indian jewelry in the tourist trade.  Fred Harvey set up hotels and motels along cities and train depots to service the travelers.  Natives Indians set-up stands and tables to sell their wares to travelers or those just having a rest stop while on the train.  Later, roads like Route 66 became the main travel route for vacationers, so tourist shops and trading posts sprung up all along the Mother Road (Route 66).  Fred Harvey jewelry was always unsigned except for an occasional piece and is the most collected Indian jewelry today.  The designs and styles are unmistakable for Fred Harvey era jewelry.
I stand behind all my Native American Indian crafted items to be as represented, and provide a full unconditional refund, including return shipping if the item is not authentic and as described.   My Native Indian arts, crafts, and jewelry are purchased directly from Natives, usually in Arizona, South Dakota, New Mexico, as well as buying from specialty auctions and sales.  In addition, I sell items for Native Americans and from personal collections.  As a result, there is no time limitation on returns, but items returned need to be in their original condition.
