    Description

Burlin Lansing, a Navajo Indian artisan known for spirit carvings, carved this wood wolverine figure, including simulated Navajo robe.
The 12-inch figure is upright, wearing simulated moccasin boots and is adorned with a simulated turquoise necklace.
It is signed on bottom of base. The detail on head, which emerges from the top of the figure, is quite realistic.
This an authentic object of Native American Navajo culture.
It is a portal to a time, place and belief system, which enriches one's appreciation of a people different from Euro-centric America.
We acquired it personally in 2003 at Shiprock, on the Navajo Reservation, New Mexico.
While previously owned, it has only been used for display and is in superb condition.
