Welcome.WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT IT: Carl Luthey was Kewa and lived from 1902-1975. He operated The Navajo Hogan Shop where he employed several Navajo artists to make jewelry for the shop which was considered to be very high quality. This bracelet is a magnificent example of the quality of work done there. The turquoise is Blue Gem mine turquoise, one of the most beautiful, and the silver work is superb. The edges of the bracelet are scalloped, framing the oval shaped stones, the sides running to the terminals have great chiseled designs radiating from beautiful stamp work including crescent shaped stamps which have scalloped hand made bezels. Between the stones and at the ends of the ones near the terminals there are superb applied hand made raindrops. The stamp work and chisel work lead the eye to the gorgeous oval shaped turquoise cabochons. The bracelet is properly signed with Luthey's CWL stick figure hallmark. This is a terrific bracelet.
CONDITION: very good vintage, wearable and collectable. Some stones have matrix loss or some minimal cracks. There is nothing endangering the piece.
MEASUREMENTS:
• internal length of silver alone 5-1/4", gap 1", total 6-1/4"
• width 1"
• weight 71.57grams
• not signed for metal content which was usual but it's sterling silver .925
• signed with the Carl Luthey shop mark, and it was made by an unknown but excellent Navajo artist as were all Luthey's pieces
SUMMARY: I always love Carl Luthey pieces which are always the best. I have a few other Carl Luthey pieces in my store now, so check around. This one has the best Blue Gem turquoise and very arresting silver work. It looks great from any angle and it's a terrific collectible bracelet which I date to the 1950s.

Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target.
