EIKI SL-0 Super Slot Load II *NEEDS WORK*.
I bought this projector from another eBay seller under the guise that it was a completely functional machine. I’ll save you the hassle and headache and warn you up front this is NOT a completely functional machine. That being said, it has potential and is a good project for anybody looking for a cheap fixer-upper.
This projector is currently unplayable. I know what’s wrong with it, I just don’t have the time to fix it. I will put a list of the problems below. The good thing is that the power cable is in good condition and the unit turns on. The main bulb and the exciter light both turn on.
This unit has potential. It’s not worth scrapping, I just don’t have the time right now to make it a working unit. It’s a nice machine and would be perfect for somebody wanting to get into the hobby and practice fixing a machine.
Here is the list of problems along with the solutions:
- Exciter light turns on, but audio only works sometimes. The problem is in the wiring. It’s very touchy right now but if positioned right, you can get the audio to work. Rewiring would be ideal to permanently fix.
- Needs new main drive belt. These are easy to find online and cheap to buy.
- Focus knob needs new tubing to be able to hold the lens. Larry Urbanski made a great video on YouTube about fixing this problem using household items.
- Cosmetic wear. The corners of the plastic were brittle and have snapped, but electrical tape or gorilla glue should be able to fix this.
- The knob to raise the image from the base is stripped so it can’t be raised unless you put things under it.
