ORIBE-yaki is a kind of Mino-yaki. Mino-yaki is pottery made in Mino area, Japan. Mino area is current Gifu Prefecture. That history is very old. The origin is the 16 century. Oribe-yaki is the style that has been devised by great tea master Furuta Oribe. Furuta Oribe was also a great feudal lord. The origin of the name of Oribe-yaki is his last name.
