This species looks almost identical to

, but the stripe across the tegmina has been reduced to a single spot in the center. They also tend to be darker in color. They are identical in care to
E. capucina
and do well in a moist, soft
substrate
covered in leaves.  They spend most of their time just below or resting on top of the
substrate
.
The nymphs will be brown and they will develop their rich black color as they enter adulthood.  Keep them at room temperature or above for best results.  They will breed well at around 80 degrees.
They love fruits and carrots as well as flake fish food and lots of dried hardwood leaves.  Only feed as much flake food as they will eat within an hour and feed once a week.
